Community events are a great way to enhance the overall sense of belonging and to increase community engagement and partnerships.

Block parties |
The Block Party package is the first step to hosting a block party in your area. All you need to do is fill out the application form, have your neighbours sign the petition and submit. The event organizer must complete the application to temporarily close the street a minimum of two weeks prior to the requested date of the block party. |
Parade permits |
All parades held in Yorkton require a permit to close roadways and receive barricades. Please fill out the Parade Permit application and submit at least 15 business days before the scheduled parade date. |
Special occasion permits |
In order to have alcohol on City of Yorkton properties and in City facilities, an application for a Special Occasion Permit must be completed and submitted with your Facility Rental Application. Please allow two weeks from your scheduled date for the permit to be processed. |
City wide registration nights |
City wide registration night is held twice throughout the year:

Annual indoor flea market |
The annual City of Yorkton Flea Market is held annually in May of each year. Based out of the Curling Rink in the Gallagher Centre, individuals can register to be a vendor to sell various items to attendees. This year's Flea Market will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2024 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Registration for the Flea Market closes on Monday, May 4, 2024 at 4:00 p.m.. Exhibitors can set up on Friday, May 10, 2024 from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Exhibitors may show up at 7:30 a.m. the day of the event to complete set up. Tear down must take place at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 11, 2024. |
Funding |
Your event may be eligible for full or partial funding. We offer community grants to assist community groups with the funding of culture, recreation and sport projects or events. |
